Bedroom & Closet Ideas
Organizing your bedroom doesn't have to be difficult. There are a few key things you need and then you just need to take action. Here is some help.
Storage Ideas For Your Bedroom
It's amazing how much 'stuff' we can store in our home, and our bedrooms are no exception. When was the last time you had a really good look in your closet? Do you have shoes you haven't worn in 10 years in there, clothers that don't fit? What about your dresser, can you see the top?
Just about everyone of us are guilty of letting the bedroom organization go while we focus on other things. We're the only one's who see it, so why worry? Having an organized and tidy bedroom will give you peace of mind and make your environment much more comfortable, and that's worth working on.
Here are some great bedroom storage ideas you can use to create a clutter free and organized room.
Your hardward store is a great place to start. Have a look around at the different accessories you can purchase for your bedroom such as plastic storage bins, shoe racks, hooks, hangers and more. Get only what you need and will use in your room, don't buy anything that's going to add to the disorganization! A great space saver is an under the bed storage bin, have a look for one of those to take home with you.
When you get home it's time to start organizing, here are some steps to take.
Start with your closet:
- Purge - Take everything out of your closet. Repeat, take everything out! If you haven't done this for years it will be a lot of stuff but make sure you're left with nothing but an empty closet.
- Decisions - What will you keep? What do you wear and what's been sitting for more than a year?
- Store - Get out those storage bins and place your out of season clothing in them for storage. Label these containers and place them on a top shelf or in a storage area until you need them.
- Organize - Hang hooks on the side of your closet or on the back of your closet door to store things like belts and casual bags. Put the shoe rack inside your closet and place all your shoes neatly in it.
- Restock - Use those new hangers and put all the clothes that you are keeping back into your closet.
- Donate - A great thing to do with all those clothes you will no longer wear is to bag it all up and send it to a charity that resells the clothing to people who need it.
Next, look outside the closet:
Is your bedroom full of clutter and poorly organized? Now it's time to focus on this part of the room. You'll need some more storage bins for this part. Just like we did in the closet you'll need to take everything out of your dresser drawers and start getting rid of the things you no longer wear or want anymore. Get rid of any old magazines or even books that you will no longer be reading.
Your jewelery can get pretty cluttered and messy if you don't watch out. Have a look at where you are keeping it and how it can be improved. Maybe you'll need to purchase a jewelery box/organizer.
When your bedroom is finished you just might not recognize it but you will be so pleased with yourself for taking action! You room will also feel so much bigger and better than you ever thought it could.
