How Do You Know If Household Cleaners Are Safe?

Every parent has heard horror stories about a child getting into the household cleaners and it has to be one of our worst nightmares. Parents often seek out natural household cleaners or ways to make their own so they can lay to rest their worries on health and their child's well-being.  In general, people are more aware of environmental toxins and want to keep them out of our homes, air and environment.

Of course I can't tell you if every household cleaner you have is safe, but one way to be sure if to take matters into your own hands. Here are some ways you can be sure you have cleaners that won't cause anyone problems.

Vinegar, Borax, Lemon Juice, Olive Oil, Salt, and Baking Soda are great, safe and non-toxic ingredients that you can use to clean your home.  They will do just as good a job as any of the commercially bought cleaners out there for less money and more peach of mind.

Washing your windows. Water and vinegar mixed with lemon are an excellent alternative to purchasing a window cleaning solution. Add vinegar to salt and water and it works great for cleaning the fixtures in your washroom.  Liquid soap, borax and warm water can be mixed together and used to clean your oven. Borax can also be used as a disinfectant in hot water as well as for cleaning toilets.

Use olive oil and lemon juice to polish your furniture. Use lemon juice with a little bit of salt to polish copper tea kettles. Baking soda and warm water can be used to clean your washroom. If you have a clogged sink, try pouring down some baking soda mixed with a cup of vinegar.

Pollution is at an all time high and there are things we can do to decrease the toxins in our are and the surrounding land.  If more and more people start using this type of natural cleaner and refuse to bring more toxins into their homes then you can be sure that the loss of profit these companies experience will make them take a look at what ingredients they are including in their cleaners.  We can take a stand by beginning at home.

Save yourself some time, money, sanity from worrying about the kids and your environment by mixing up some natural household cleaners.
